Hi all,

I was doing some research on the old AOD in our 245 "Fjord" 5.0, and was wondering if a newer AOD-E/4R70W would fit in its place? Is the basic size, bolt pattern, etc., etc., the same? In reading about the newer unit, it sounds like a good place to start . . . although the electronic controls could prove "challenging." Any BTDTs, or is everybody still running the old AODs?

BTW, our AOD was pretty heavily massaged about 7 years ago (Transgo shift kit, commercial clutch pack, upgraded servo (T-bird turbo I think), kevlar OD band, etc.) . . . but in a few years I may be doing some substantial upgrades.
