tell me about e-fans (SBC)

Adam- oval 97 gave me a chill, a very disliked driver, LOL. I sent you the side view of the shroud installed so you could see the piece of aluminum sheet I pop riveted on (it only overlaps the plastic shroud by about one inch on each side) to extend the shroud all the way across the radiator. The other close up views shows how close the front of the engine, the pulley, is to the fan and also that the fan shroud is mounted all the way to the left to clear the pulley on the front of the engine. The close up of the lower radiator mount from the front will show you where that should be located. I had to extend that forward by pop riveting a radiator crossmember extension, the black painted metal that the rubber mount sits on. I am thinking you should go get the correct fan and shroud. JTR raves about the two speed Taurus fan shown in my pics and explains how powerful it is compared to aftermarket fans, I think maybe it draws 35amps on high speed, that is a lot. The fan blade design is also very high tech to keep it extremely quiet. I have never had a problem with engine overheating, never goes to high speed unless the AC kicks it on automatically to cool the condenser, as I designed it to do. Stay far away from aftermarket fans for this application. Follow JTR to a fault and you will be better off. I will answer any questions you might have as best I can. Good luck.
