rough running stroker

Well, I guess you would be checking for things that change when the car gets warmed up. The canister purge solenoid does start working when warmed up, it just opens the carbon canister to manifold vacuum, IIRC. Could be related to your problem, but I wouldn't imagine that could cause a vac leak big enough to stall your engine.

The EGR valve also starts working when the engine warms, and that can cause rough running and stalling when it goes south. I don't remember why, but that's what happened on an 86 Camry, and a Ford Crown Vic 5.0.

Just some ideas.
