960 w/lt1

What year is your 960? I recently put s 302/AOD in my 97 960. Turns out most of the wiring is pretty simple. All you really have to do is tap into the relays and fuses in the engine bay and behind the drivers door. The coolant temp sensor fits into one of the brass adapters I had left over from an Autometer temp gauge I used on another project. Teh speedo is driven off the rear end, so I didn't have to do anything. About the only thing I haven't figured out is the tach.

I put about 3000 miles on it before I tore up the driveshaft. I had the AOD yoke welded on to the front section of the 960 driveshaft. Unfortunately the 960 front driveshaft is made of 2 tubes, with the smaller one glued inside the larger one with some type of rubber compound. Apparently the 302's torque was just too much.

Hope this helps on the non-lt1/non-jtr stuff.
