Code 95 Eliminated..Code 67 Next

Greg,
Your car probably doesn't have a clutch pedal switch. If it was put in, they probably would have wired the starter interlock also.
One way to know for sure if your tranny switch is wired back to the ECU would be to check for code 67. With KOEO (key on engine off) and the tranny in neutral no code 67 should come up. KOEO with the tranny in any gear, you should get a code 67.
Another thing you could try, but the change may be very subtle with rpms. With the car running in neutral, make note of the exact rpm. Hold the clutch to the floor and put it in any gear. You should see some rpm increase and vice versa back to neutral.
Another thing you can look for is the factory Ford connector which carries the circuit back to the ECU. On my car (an '89 harness) there is a round connector with 8 wires to it. This connector shares the same harness section with the mass air meter connector, so it is right near the mass air meter. The two wires on this 8 wire connector are black w/green stripe and a brown w/yellow stripe.
On the Mustang there would have been a chassis harness plugged into this 8 wire connector which tied the tranny and clutch switch to the ECU.
Take a look, let me know if this is or isn't the case with your car.
Steve
