General 240 V8 swap question

So its been in my mind for several years now to swap a V8 into the body of a 240. And for just as many years there has been two general ways to go about it, choosing between a Chevy or Ford V8.

Now here is the question, for the people who have done it, to the people who also want to do it, which engine setup is the easier setup, and which engine is the more reliable to use in this setup? As far as i am concerned the 302 and 350 are strong solid engines and either would be fine with me in my Volvo. But i want other peoples takes on it before i put any money down.
