V8 Radiator/Fan Question

Just noticed a minor problem with the radiator/cooling fan assembly on our 17-year-old (yikes!) V8 conversion (I used a Ross Converse kit back in 1995).

The stud that holds a leg on the Cutlass Ciera fan to the right tank of the Volvo diesel radiator has come unstuck/unbrazed. I figure that I can take everything apart and braze the stud back on the radiator . . . but . . . I'm wondering if there are any better options than the diesel radiator/Ciera fan combo Ross was recommending back in the day.

I seem to remember somebody somewhere talking about using a fan assembly from a Ford Taurus or something, but couldn't find the thread.

While I'm thinking about it, is anybody using a custom radiator?

I know that I should just put it all back together the way it was (cooling has never really been a problem), but sometimes I can't leave well enough alone. Maybe it's time to up the meds again ;^)

Thanks in advance!
