Spring rates??

Peter - I think you'd be best off - if you're serious about handling - installing coil overs with adjustable perches so you can easily change out aftermarket smaller dia. springs. This will allow to adjust ride height, shift weight, and experiment with different spring rates. I realize you're looking for a good starting point, but I'm gonna guess you're gonna need flexibility to actually try out several different rates to find out what works for your needs.
