I do not know whether the stock in-tank pump represents a blockage. However, I know of people with 350 powered Volvos using only the mechanical block pump. I never bothered to get specific details, but I would imagine that they used a short length of fuel line to extend the reach of the in pump pickup and then removed the rest of the pumps/assembly. Works for the domestic fellas...
