prepump

Because of a wiring mixup, a buddy of mine only had the prepump working when he first fired his 5.0L Ford efi motor in a 940 conversion. He actually drove the car for a couple of weeks before he began to see symptoms of something being wrong. The prepump was capable of putting about 25 psi to the fuel rail at idle.

I don't think it would have any trouble keeping up. I'm wondering how the mechanical pump - which is designed to actually 'pull' the fuel from the tank - would respond to having it supplied with significant pressure.

I suppose you could try it and tell us what happened.
