Dumping my AC and power steering

I just ordered March Performance A/C and Power steering eliminator brackets. I found a good used manual rack.
My cooling is already much better without the A/C condensor.
I have driven manual 240's in the past but they had the stock 14" tires, they weren't bad to drive. I run the 15" Turbo wheels should be about the same?
Anyone else done/doing this?
Are there any issues with converting my 1983 to an older (1976) rack and pinion?

ALSO, I am searching for a set of Bilstiens I can afford. The new set from IPD is a little out of the budget right now but I need my car ready for the Davis California VCOA meet in June. Anyone?

AND is anyone else attending Davis?
