Shudder under braking

I would get a VSS on it. The sensor plugs into the tranny and the speedo cable plugs into it on a T5 tranny - I assume it works the same on the AOD. The positive terminal on the sensor needs to be connected to pin #3 on the ecu's 60 pin connector; the negative terminal goes to pin #6 on the ecu's 60 pin.

I believe it will help with your symptoms.

Before I did anything though I'd pull the diagnostic codes and see if there's anything amiss with the rest of the motor/system.
