Swapping converted Manual to unconverted automatic

Hi all,

I have just purchased the most perfect 88 Turbo wagon I have ever seen and am kicking around converting it with the 5 speed manual v8 volvo that I have now.

My question...the 88 currently has an automatic transmission. Will I have to cut the firewall, or make any other modifications (cutting/welding), to put the clutch setup from the 89 5 speed into the 88, or can I just bolt on what I need?

Any pitfalls that anyone can think of?

Thanks,
Ed
