Remote TFI Harness for Ford 302. It WORKS!!!

After reading allot of stories concerning Ford's Lawsuits in regards to the TFI problem I decided to "experiment" with a custom solution. I spent about 20 minutes with a hot glue gun, some spade connectors, a soldering iron, some wiring and some wire loom. I basically created an extension harness that requires NO modification on the TFI module or the distributor.

The "victim" was a friend's 92 mustang which became the candidate for the experiment. My friend was VERY familiar with the TFI problem since his Mustang was stalling at the highway from times to times after 20-30 minutes of driving but never gave him problems for short trips or when the engine was cold. The problem after driving hin nuts for week was traced to a faulty TFI module which was "misbehaving" when the engine was getting at fully operating termperature. Luckly my friend had kept his "old" TFI and he was very hesitant to try it with the harness. I finally convinced him to use it for a couple of days after I made the same harness for him. Bottom line is that the harness worked and the engine didn't experience the engine cutout problems when getting at operating temperature.

The only trick is that the TFI must be mounted in a flat surface that will act as a "heatsink". The TFI gets a little warm, but nothing compared to it being mounted on the distributor.
