AC update questions

What do you mean exactly about the control valve? Do you mean you want one that is not thermostatic like the original metal valve? The newer plastic one is not thermostatic, I like it a lot more than the metal valves, it is smoother, and you can regulate the mid- temperatures much better.

I had it in an 84 that I owned (my first car), and I took it out when the car went to the scrapper. It's waiting to be installed in my 90. I'll try and take a picture of the inside where you can see what the opening in the valve looks like.

Of course, then there is the worry of the plastic valve possibly being more susceptible to rupturing than the metal one...
