You got an incredible deal on the car. I am familiar with a retired person in Chandler that I have known for years who has built about five of the GM conversions. I am guessing the switches you mention are to turn the fans on and off manually through relays, but are probably not wired into the circuit yet. It is definately a corvette radiator, same one as I have in my 262c w/SBC-700R4 trans. I cannot tell if the main fan is the Taurus 2-speed unit that is recommended by JTR for that configuration, but the Taurus 2-speed is the fan of choice and I have never had a problem with it on my radiator. As correctly mentioned in another post, the edges of the radiator must be sealed, I use foam, so all the air goes through the radiator and none escapes through cracks around the outside edges. The vertical metal fairings leading up to the sides of the radiator in the front must also be positioned to send air through the radiator, not past it, again using foam to fill the cracks so air must go through the radiator. This is actually a common sense technique that applies to all radiator installations. I am also posting a pic of my rad and Taurus fan assembly and extended shroud for your perusal. What I am showing you is inexpensive to build and actually works properly, all the time.
