Will AOD-E/4R70W fit?

My brother has a Mercury Mountaineer 5.0L and AOD-E in his 940 - it fit with only minor 'massaging' of a couple of spots in the tunnel, but it is tight. Of course, all of that depends on how the engine fits/is placed in the car.

I've never owned an car with automatic -- but I believe you're gonna need the computer that controls the tranny to go along with it; which might require some interesting wiring harness and engine control changes. That may end up being a bigger deal than physically putting the tranny in the car.
