My 780 V8 rear diff is coming upon 200k miles. I'd like to install a limited slip or posi rear diff in this thing.
I know the '91 780s and 7/9 series SE cars come with traction loc, but there has always been a question of whether or not these units will handle V8 torque.
Does any one out there know for sure what manufacturer Volvo used for the IRS rear diffs. and possibly part numbers.
I've contacted a local race car builder who advertises in GRM (Grass Roots Motorsports), but they have had no exposure to these cars and don't know what Volvo uses in their IRS cars.
I'd appreciate any leads.
