Are V8 Volvos dying out?

My wife drives our 285 as a daily driver.
It used to be mine, now I have to drive a company car.
I don't think I'll get it back, she loves it.
When I drove the 285 or the 242T I would say "I get to drive the Volvo."
Now I say "I have to drive the Escape."
