You don't suppose Swedes would be allowed.....

From the 'eligibility' rules - "Though known as an "American" V-8 series, import and European cars that meet the rule requirements will be allowed and encouraged to compete." This may give you hope.

But such hope is dashed in the next paragraph of the same section "Engine manufacturer and chassis manufacturer must be one and the same. So long

as a model has been offered with a V-8, a car originally out fitted with a 4, 6, 10 or 12

cylinder engine may be fitted with a V-8. Exceptions to this rule may be granted if adequate precedent can be demonstrated."

I don't see any way to interpret that as allowing a V8'd Volvo to qualify. As to the last sentence - not sure what 'adequate precedent' would be.
