VIN numbers

i just noticed that my newest 79 244 dosent have a vin plate in the window, it dosent even have a spot for it, so i called the guy i got it from (original owner) and he said he never had one. but my 79 244V8 does have one, but this is the one i have been trynna find out why my info plate says built in Bertone Italy and nothing in the car is in english, but its got a MPH speedo
