does anyone out there know if the factory roofrack from a '98 V70 wagon will fit a '97 855 wagon? my '97 855R didnt come with the roofrack, i found a '98 v70 in a junkyard with the roofrack..it should fit, right? the roof rails are the same? anyone ever installed one? tips?

Same. Grab the roof rail molding also, all the way down the side of the windshield. That way you wont need to cut yours in the proper places.

A V70 in the junk yard... I wish I could find something that new in our local pick&pull.

thanks klaus.. i discovered the '98 v70 has a different style roofrack then the 94-97 855's.. but like you say, it should fit.. this one has the factory crossbars too, it seems there is supposed to be some sort of key to adjust them front and back..i dont have the key.. can the key be purchased new from the dealer? it came off ok but i accidentially broke 2 of the little plastic curved clips that hold the legs of the rack down into the raingutters what do these clips do? the actual legs of the rack bolt into pre-existing holes in the gutter that were filled with that tar stuff..
also, someone else removed the windshield from the car and boogered up the A-pillar roof gutter trimserts in the process

Stop by your local Volvo dealer parts dept, smile, and ask if he has the mounting instructions on his computer. If not, someone on this site has them.
