Klaus - On all 1993 and some 1994 850's, w/ECC, the temp. sensor is mounted on top of the original air guide by two very small "star" screws. This applied to 850's before chassis # 131217 (4 door) and 037306 (5door). This requires an new mount inside the filter holder. The part numbers are: Bracket 6849320-4, Screw 979186-4 and washer 960138-6. About $6 bucks for all of them from Volvo, and no kiss after you pay. You'll need to drill a 1/8 inch hole in the filter holder for the bracket and then secure the excess sensor wire with a plastic tie. The sensor then sits about in the middle of the opening and below the filter. Glad I checked before taking the cowl off and found this was needed.
