Climate control 850 1996

I have noticed that once in a while the red lights for the AC and the REC both flash for a short period of time. What does that mean? Thanks.

The flashing LEDs indicate that there's an ECC system fault (motor or sensor) and for your '96, you'll need a scan tool to check for which fault code(s) exist, then diagnose from there.

My Question is: Why is the A/C light ON when the A/C is OFF and visa versa???

I also noticed that with the climate control set in AUTO, A/C off, left and right temps set at 72, and the fan switch set to 0 (zero), I get heat coming through the vents. If I put the fan switch on AUTO then cool air comes through and with the Air Mix open even cooler...

And do the REC and Air Mix kinda cancel each other out? With REC on and the Air Mix open your getting outside air in.

Maybe I need to read that section of the owners manual again. Never had to read the temp control section on any car I owned...

Try blowing into the sensor right next
your rear defrost. Sensor may be full of
dust.

Worked for me. stoped the flashing LED's.

Where is the sensor? I tried looking and didn't see anything. Maybe it is in a different place on my car. Thanks.
