Any Major Problems with Wrong Ft/lb on Front Struts V70-XC70 1998

I installed the Volvo Front Struts today but in all honesty don't know how reliable my torque wrench was. Is there anything to be concerned about if I just tightened till I can't tighten it anymore?

There are a number of places bolts/nuts need to be tightened. Are you talking about the entire strut assembly as well as how it is mounted to the car? There are a bunch of critical torque values I would be worried about if my torque wrench was inaccurate.

Yes, there is a base that attaches to each strut by the existing 3 bolt/nut. Manual says to crank it up to 19 ft/lb (25Nm). The Volvo front strut also has an additional bolt/nut on each side that attaches the pole to the base that attaches to the front struts. For this part, manual says 30 ft.lb (40Nm). I'm quite sure I tightened it more than the above stated. Perhaps next time I take it to the shop, I should have tech check?

First of all, what makes you think your torque wrench is inaccurate? It takes years of proper use, to make one inaccurate.

Was the strut preassembled? Because I did a full suspension change last summer consisting of Koni adjustable shocks/struts, H&R springs, iPd anti-roll bars, PowerFlex bushings, and new hardware. While assembling the struts with the springs, there were a few more things to torque.

I would basically try to get my hands on an accurate torque wrench. They aren't very expensive. I wouldn't bother asking a tech to check for proper torque. I can't remember the last time I actually say a tech break out a torque wrench.

          Sin,

I'm not too worried that I've tightened it below the ft/lb specified in the manual, 19 and 40 are not too tight as far as I know. I don't suppose there would be any negative side effects if it was too tight or over would there? If it is under the stated ft/lb, I guess you wouldn't feel the effect of the strut bar, that is, it wouldn't serve it's purpose to keep the struts from flexing during cornering.

There are number of negative side effects to overtightening certain suspension bolts and nuts, such as excessive shear force on the nuts/bolts, which could easily shear a bolt off, or cause removal of said components to be impossible, by causing them to seize.
