Left Wiper Arm Problem 850 1995

I noticed last night the the left (drivers side) wiper arm on my wife's 855T does not stay in contact with the windshield all the way accross the sweep. It lifts off the windsheild about four or five inches from the lsft side. This does not allow it to clear the water from the drivers view. What can I do to fix this problem ?

TIA

JF

The Bay13 method of bending the arm work a few times.

Eventually I had to buy a new arm - $34, big deal.

As said, this is a common uncommon problem of the 850's.

Hmmm, the 850's have quite a few of these common but uncommon problems. High maintenance vehicles they are !

Go to this post, and look at my replies. This details the fix including a picture in the second post. This should be a permanent fix.

Check the tightness of the nut that holds the arm to the spindle. This loosens up occasionally. If this doesn't fix it, do the bay 13 fix. If still bad, replace the arm.

Like Francis suggested, try the Volvospeed fix first but you may have to replace the arm. Very common on these cars.
