Portable GPS Unit - Where & How to mount it ? S70 1998

Hi,

This evening, I purchased a Garmin GPS unit as I am planning a road trip with my family soon.

I need some help as to where is the best location to mount it and how to mount it in my 1998 Volvo S70. I am not looking for a permanent mount, more of a temporary mount as I planned to keep it in the house when I come home from my road trip.
