S 70 with manuel transmission S70

I have a base 1994 850 with manuel shift. I am beginning to look for a low mileage 2000 S70. Did they come with a manuel. I don't care about how "load"it may be,except for leather seats. I also don't need a turbo. Don't want the $3000 repair bill when it blows out. Did they make many S 70's with manuel shifts and how would I get one. I've never driven an automatic and can't learn now.

S 70 with manuel transmission S70 2000

Well, I have a 2000 volvo S70/5speed. If you check any of my latest posts I've had to replace a couple of big things (A/C, o-rings). I tried to trade it, sell it, auction it, and I'm not prepared to give it away yet. Anyway, here's a copy of my ebay listing when I had it up for auction last month.

The 5-speed is great even w/o turbo. As for saving on maintance costs, not so sure. I thought that too, but I had to my o-rings replaced at 60k. So much for less maintance.

I thought I read it was about 3-5% of SVC70s sold, mine's a T5 and the drivetrain and turbo have been bulletproof. Unlike the electrical stuff.

There's a 5-speed S70 base on e-bay right now:

What market are you in? In U.S. the base S70 was available with a
manual in 1998 model year. I'm not sure about the 2000 model year
(but I don't recall seeing them).

By the way, the clutch would cost more to replace then the turbo
(and turbo failure rate is probably lower then clutch failure rates).
No need to avoid the turbo models out of fear of engine
reliability -- the engine and turbo are quite robust (turbo-charging
is one thing the Sweeds do really well).
