The only difference between the SIPS in the '94 and '95 850's I have owned is that the '95 has seats with the integrated pyrotechnics/gasbags. No structural difference.
As I understand it, the '95 850 was the first car anywhere offered with side airbags (also first with DRLs). Not available on the base model, optional on the GLT, standard on the Turbo.
