Camshaft sensor 850 1994

My son's 94 850 will occasionally not start. Good solid cranking but no start. If we let it sit 3-4 hours it will start with no problem. The diagnostics show an error code for missing and intermittent camshaft position sensor signal. Of course when I take it into the shop they can't find anything wrong (don't you love intermittents?) Does anyone have any trouble shooting hints?? This is getting extremely annoying (especially at 1130 at night). Thanks
