Help! I'm Stuck V70-XC70 2000

Not to long ago I bought a 2000 V-70 that needed to have the cylinder head gasket. While I was working on the car I was presented with the opportunity to buy a second nearly identical one, also needing to have a head gasket done. The really strange thing is that I cannot get the key out of the ignition on either car. Is there a trick to this?
