Help! I'm Stuck V70-XC70 2000

thanks for the reply. I could not get the key out with the method you suggested, but I was able to go to the other end of the cable and unplug it from the ignition switch and accomplish the same thing. What do you think the permanent fix will require? Is a new spring available or can I stretch the old a bit and attain a suitable repair?
