Upgrading OE alarm system: what's it about/is it possible/is it worth it? 850 1996

While looking through the Alldata stuff, I noticed that there seem to be three levels of the OE alarm system: Basic, "Guard Alarm I" and "Guard Alarm II". Can someone explain to me the differences between the three levels, and whether or not it is possible and worth it to upgrade from one level to another. Thanks!
