Because if you are, Volvos aren't very popular with car thieves here. No self respecting Newark gangster would ever be caught dead in one. Click THIS.
I don't worry at all about it, and left my car parked in the long term lot at Newark International Airport for most of it's first 3 years of life. I did buy a "Club" though. Usually I didn't lock it, just left it on the steering wheel.

Interesting aside - BMW makes you pay extra for the alarm, and they ARE stolen a lot.
