Can a 'check engine' light cost $3000? 850 1996

Aargh.

A simple check engine light on a car that appears to be runnung fine. The mechanic sez -

1. Front o2 sensor. No surprise. $380.

2. Engine/Fuel Injection ECU. $1300

3. Turbo leaking oil inside. $1300.

The car is running great, with no visible oil smoke. Is he just blowing smoke up my butt, or is it possible that the turbo and ecu are bad?

Any further diagnostics in mind? Thanks in advance....
