High wind snow storm. Vehicle starts OK. Engine compartment is full of snow. Let idle for 15 minutes. Vehicle pulls out of drift just great. Idles for another 15 minutes then vehicle powers down lane in heavy wind packed snow and makes it OK(probably as much snow as it could possibly go through). Stop on road to switch drivers, put into gear and she dies.
Re-starts but when put into gear it dies. Towed back to farm running in neutral and parked it out of wind. Now a few hours later, it will crank fast but will not fire. Snow is all melted around upper half and top of motor but still packed in around the tranny and lower rad.
Any thoughts on this? Air cleaner is clear and top of rad in front of air intake is clear. 26 F outside, gas is at 30 (9 gallons) litres and I've added gas line antifreeeze. Hair dryer going full blast now.
Son thought he say the tranny shift into winter mod on it's own before it died. (saw winter light come on when "econo" button is pushed. Although this could be his error)
Steve.
