IT IS RUNNING!! THANKS ALL!! S70 1998

Well I can tell you that if you live on the very peak of a mountain (at least that's what the Scottish settlers thought it was) in CANADA and the wind velocity reaches a true 50 mph it really doesn't matter what direction anything is pointed. Actually, my snow is Great Lakes generated and I get it primarily from the southwest over to the northwest. They call it "lake effect snow". That's what they get in Buffalo, poor devils.

Yes, having the timing belt jump a few degrees would have really wrecked my week. hehe

As for the trouble, after it died the first time on the wife, I started OK and it idled fine and I had as much rpms as I wanted. It's when I shifted into reverse or forward that the tranny console indicator would shift into "winter mode" and then it would just die without any stumble. It did this about 3 times and then any subsequent attempts it would crank for approx. 4 seconds and then quit. The battery was brand new from Volvo and it wasn't really dead. It charged fully in an hour at 10 amps. I just charged it because I thought it was going on a long tow job and I didn't want it to freeze or have the Volvo guys charge me for a new battery when it was 2 months old.

Steve
