Volvo vs. BMW 850

Hey anyone out there have experience with BMW versus Volvo. I own a 91 745 and a 97 855 LP Turbo Volvo. Both cars have only 60K each and have been the best cars I have owned. The 855 I bought new and the 745 a year ago after my wifes Ford Taurus lost it's engine at 140K.

Anyway, I am not wild about the new V70. Too cramped and too slow compared to my 97 855. I was thinking about a used 2001 BMW 530 wagon to add to my fleet( still slower than the 855). Don't worry I will never sell my 855 or 745. Anyone know the difference in cost of ownership? Reliability? I assume the BMW will cost more to own but how much more? I seldom see old BMWs in Minnesota while we are thick with Volvos here.
