I can't answer on the details of the swap. The engine in the V70AWD
is a 2.4L low pressure turbo. It runs less boost then the 95's engine;
has a higher compression ratio and fewer internal mods for handling the
stress of a turbo application. The turbo is on the V70 AWD is lso
smaller to spin up faster. Basically, the low pressure turbo engines
(LPT), found in the V70 AWD and GLT models from 1997 on, are more tuned
for torque. They are also kept under 200 horse power because that is a
magic number for insurance and taxes in some countries (the 95s is about
222HP now).
If you bolt on the 95 turbo and electronics to a LPT you will probably
over boost the LPT engine. With the initial higher compression ratio
this might cause some pinging or other problems. There are after market
kits to get more boost for the LPT engines and I think they do boost it
close to the stock boost pressure in the high pressure turbo (the 95
turbo has a high pressure turbo [HPT} engine). Maybe an owner of an LPT
engine using one of these "chip" kits could comment on how well the LPT
works when run at boost pressures closer to the HPT engine.
