Headlamps cracking on '03 S80 S80 2003

On a hot day last fall I watched as one of my headlamps cracked as I sprayed water on the car to wash it. After much discussion with Volvo Canada and my dealer they deemed it to be due to a rock chip. To their credit, they did provide a 20% discount on the part and labor.

Surprise, the other headlamp has now developed the same type of crack. Maybe the odds are against me, but has anyone else had problems with S60 or S80's developing cracks in the headlamp assemblys or do I just have an attraction for road stones? With a 2 hour labor charge (at $90/hr) and a part cost of near $450, it adds up.
