First thing in the morning, cold start...idle begins at 2500rpm. It will stay there a good two intolerable minutes before it assumes normal idle 800-900rpm...unless I put a load on the engine...turn the a/c on, then idle drops to normal. It runs excellent the rest of the day. I have cleaned the throttle-body, egr, idle motor, replaced degraded vacume hoses, and checked for vacume leaks. Also, replace plug wires, cap, and rotor. Plugs look healthy. Before I did all this work I had a noticable loping at idle. This has subsided, although I can't remember now if the engine ever purred without a noticable lope. So what's with the high idle? Could this be an air pump problem...leak???
