Hi. I have a guy willing to sell me a Volvo 850 cheap, but he says he's had a nagging problem with the wintermode switch coming on periodically, making driving off impossibly slow. He's taken it to several shops, which have changed out plenty of parts, but the light keeps kicking on and he has the same problem. One of the shops said that he has only cleaned the mode selector switch rather than change it. A dealership told me they've had to change a number of those on the same type of car until the computer and switch linked up. Could you please help me understand what the problem could be?
