The mechanic cleared the error code but the problem was not corrected. He really did not have the time to drive the car enough to simulate the actual problem so I don't think he really understood what I was describing. I need to bring it back again to have him recheck the codes. Your prospective car's tranny may hang around a while like this as mine has but unless you're getting a really really really good deal I think I would pass. Unless you can get at least $2000 off the blue book price. That's about what it would cost to have someone install a Volvo rebuilt tranny.
