What is correct rotation order for radial tires? 850 1996

Hello All,

When radial tires were first introduced, I was told by those who sold them, and this was back up by industry literature, that unlike belted biased tires, you could only rotate radial tires: front to the back and back to the front. You always had to keep radial tires on the same side of the car. You could now switch them to the other side.

Recently, I have heard and seen written, again from sources that seem credible, that you can indeed switch radials. Specifically, the front tires are crossed over and sent to the back. The rear tires are move to the front. Then the process is repeated again. Does anyone know the definitive answer on this question? Thanks to all who respond.

Hugh
