daughter's '93 850 dies 850

My daghter's '93 850 just dies while driving. Best guess is cam position sensor as it was the only code. My Hayes manual is worthless. Is this pretty easy to replace? Also, her tranny gets stuck in 4th (limp mode). My guess on that one is the pnp (gear position sensor). Again, Hayes book worthless. Found the sensor under the battery. Looks like I put the car in neutral, pull the switch, the cable and the connector and replace. Looks easy .. yes? All input welcome. Can't afford the dealer.
