dirty intake valves 850 1994

Last weekend I replaced the entire PCV system in my 1994 850 NA with 177 k miles. I suspected there was some vacuum leak in the system, but the oil separator was not clogged. The car is using a lot of oil. I saw that the intake valves are black with oily deposits. Under normal circumstances I see no smoke coming out of the tail pipe. However, if I rev it up to a range of 4 to 4.5 k rpms, some bluish smoke will come out of the tail pipe. Car has normal power and acceleration. Is it possible that valve guides and valve stem seals are bad, causing oil to seep thru into the intake?
Thanks for any inputs.
