Made In Japan - Horrible Gas Mileage 1998 S70

I apologize for the long delay getting back to you. Unfortunately I am still struggling with the horrible gas mileage. It is not as bad as it use to be, now I'm averaging 20 mpg in the city and on the highway. The entire time the only code being tripped was the one for he Air Pump. However, in the last two weeks the code for running rich (p0172) was tripped. I took my car into a shop and they tested for any vacuum leaks (none), fuel pressure (good) and mass air flow sensor (faulty). They replaced the sensor and erased the code. The next day the check engine light came back on for the same code. Took it back in and they replaced the sensor saying that it might have been a bad part. Well, a day later the code popped up again and once again the car is in the shop. Now I am waiting to hear from them.

Just wanted to drop you a line to see if your mileage had improved and if so, what did you do.

Thanks,
Pete
