Changing to Synthetic Oil S70 2000

Hi all,

My first post after a very long time lurking. I have a couple of things. First, I recently purchased a 2000 S70 with 82K on it. I am coming up on my first oil change and am considering changing over to a synthetic. I guess I am curious about making the switch and any possible implications. A friend told me I should use a dino/syntetic blend for my first change before switching completely to synthetic. I am not sure that that is necessary.

Also, my previous car was an 94 850, which I loved very much. It was still running strong with 200K plus miles. The trans had a major leak and the interior was getting a bit ratty looking so it was time to move on.

I do have a couple of new Mann oil filters from the 850 that I can't use on the S70. I would like to offer them to a forum member (preferrably a long time member)for free. You just pay the shipping. I thought it was the least I could do after getting so much from this forum.
