Try another dealer but don't tell them what you'ld like replaced, have them diagnose the problem instead.
As for shocks, while under warranty you can't just tell them what parts you think are bad, they must first diagnose a problem then replace the bad part only (and while under warranty, that might be one shock only if the others are still OK). That's not just a "problem" with dealerships but just the way that things have to work in any car dealership as that's how the manufacturers want things done. In your case, if you say the shocks are bad yet that's not the problem and they take your word on it, replace them anyway, Volvo will not re-emburse the dealership for misdiagnosed/still good parts (the claim bounces) and trust me, dealerships know all about this, all too well so they're very carefull to make sure that they're replacing bad parts only.
In my many years with Volvo, I can tell you that bad shocks under warranty are VERY rare (with very few exceptions) so I'd guess that your vibration could be something else (just guessing).
As for the dipstick, that too is something I've never seen leak especially when the upper seal ( an o-ring) could just be replaced and if it did leak, your exhaust manifold is on the other side of the engine thus wouldn't get doused with oil. Maybe you meant another seal?
