Help!Starter Motor Replacement 850 1995

My 850 wont start, I feel as though its the starter motor,has anyone replaced one before? and if so, how hard was it? I,m pretty good at working on my own vehicles, but i wonder if there are any helpful hints, I just went to crank my car over and it wouldnt start, tried it again, and it started and made a slight "clanking" coming from the underneath side of the engine, it went away, i turned it off, and it died for good,the battery is fine(did a voltage test),and the car runs fine after it started, no lights or anything came on the dash for the few seconds i let it run, and i hear the solenoid clicking when i turn the key,so i eliminated that, any help greatly appreciated!!!Jamie
